How clean is the ADC and DAC? I already have a Behringer ADA8200 hooked up to the RayDAT, is the conversion in the Profire better quality, if so how much? Hard data would be good, including what converters are in the Profire, real world Dynamic Range and THD+N results etc.How do the onboard pres sound? Compared to more recent M-Audio offerings, as well as other similar low-mid range 8 channel pres from Focusrite, Steinberg, Presonus, Roland etc.How well does it clock with ADAT as the clock source? I would probably want to slave it to the RayDAT. What is the total time of the ADC+DAC in standalone mode, when running at 44.1Khz? In milliseconds or samples.Do the line inputs really bypass the pres? edit: confirmed.I have a few questions that Im hoping anyone who uses/has used a Profire 2626 could answer. Two reasons Im considering this - I can find them for a decent price, and also I have heard that unlike a lot of recent offerings from Focusrite, Steinberg etc, the line ins on the Profire 2626 actually bypass the pre circuits entirely, meaning I could improve the setup by adding better pres and not have them degraded by running through the interfaces own pres on the way to ADC. Im thinking of purchasing a second-hand M-Audio Profire 2626 for use as a standalone AD/DA+pre over ADAT with my RME RayDAT PCIe card.
